synopsis
Alaska leaves behind her cold, privileged life in upstate New York to spend the summer with her estranged aunt in a Florida trailer park. Surrounded by sweltering heat, rundown strip malls, and spiritual malaise, she drifts into a strange new world of backwoods rodeos, whispered prayers, and moonlit danger. When she meets Dove — an older, beautiful boy entangled in sex work and crime — she’s pulled into an intense, surreal bond that blurs the lines between love, faith, and survival. As the summer unfolds, Alaska’s longing for meaning and connection takes her deeper into a landscape where innocence wilts beneath the Southern sun and nothing is quite what it seems.
